The client was 70 and hip, and wanted an apartment that could acknowledge both facts. Age-appropriate, certainly, but still cool. A substantial fireplace and proper moldings hold the room together, with pale upholstery, botanical prints, and a turquoise cabinet keeping it company. The furniture has good manners without behaving as though the interesting part of life is over.
